HIDALGO, TEXAS – We had a fantastic day at Valley View 5th grade campus sharing our giant astronomy models! We were super excited to see your models and posters of the solar system on display in the hallway – it’s always nice to spend the day with fellow scientists.

There were some impressive thoughts and comments from the audience…
How awesome that some of the students knew that the moon has 1/6 the amount of gravity that Earth has, even before we mentioned it!

While discussing the amount of time taken for planets to orbit the sun, one student noted that even though a person wouldn’t be able to survive the 165 years it takes for Neptune to orbit the sun; a tortoise could possibly make it. Good thinking -Tortoises can live up to 200+ years!

Thanks for an awesome day 5th graders! Looking forward to seeing you again soon! 
